Amicus was born out of many many thousands of hours running advocacy and organizing campaigns. It’s built by organizers and campaigners for organizers and campaigners. The experience gained on dozens of campaigns is built into every feature. The frustration felt using existing tools guides every design decision. The lessons learned managing thousands of volunteers informs every part of the Amicus app.
Amicus was founded by Seth Bannon who, after many years complaining about the state of technology in the political and nonprofit space, eventually annoyed everyone around him and started to hear a lot of people say “why don’t you just fix it!?” So Seth teamed up with other organizers and some civically minded developers and they built a tool they always wanted to use.
As it turned out, a lot of other campaigners also wanted to use that tool. Amicus has had the great fortune of powering the grassroots efforts of amazing organizations like Greenpeace, The Human Rights Campaign, Everytown for Gun Safety, The Humane League, Airbnb, and many more. Our mission is to empower people to advocate for the causes they care about through technology. It’s what we think about every day. If you’re interested in learning more, get in touch!
